Calendula (Latin: Calendula officinalis) is a medicinal herb in the daisy family. Medicinal calendula tea is widely known and its effect is striking: it not only soothes, prolongs sleep and deepens breathing, but it is also recommended for women in pre-menstrual period, because it reduces the gynecological, postnatal pain and regulates menstruation. In antiquity calendula has been used in cases of stomach and duodenum ulcers, gallbladder, liver, gum or eye and ear inflammation. Its natural qualities greatly strengthen the immune system.
